"Where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I in the midst of them."
In the early '90's I worked in the equestrian therapy program at a psychiatric treatment center for abused children. My boss and a co-worker, who were wonderful women of God, introduced me to Jesus, someone I had previously only read about, but didn't know personally. Watching them showed me the difference between relationship and religion.
Though skeptical at first, it wasn't long before I wanted what they had, a personal relationship with our Lord. And of course, God in his grace, gave it to me. I had only to ask. We spent many hours praying together for the children with whom we worked. If God didn't help, there was no hope.
I created this piece in 1997, never dreaming how many praying women would be drawn to it. I suppose it reminded them, as it does me, to stop and pray, and when we do, He is always there, in their midst.
